Registration open for First European Workshop on Latent Semantic Analysis in Technology Enhanced Learning

The registration for the First European Workshop on Latent Semantic Analysis in Technology Enhanced Learning is open. Keynote speakers for the workshop are Prof. Arthur Graesser (University of Memphis), Thomas Landauer and Peter Foltz (Pearson Knowledge Technologies/University of Colorado). Two tutorials are included in the workshop: A tutorial about the cognitive science perspective on Latent Semantic Analysis is given by Benoit Lemaire (IMAG, France) and another tutorial will be given by Dian I. Martin (Small Bear Technical Consulting) on the mathematical and computational foundations of LSA.

Deadline extended March 30, 2007 for PLT2007

Due to several requests the deadline for paper submission to PLT2007 has been extended to March 30, 2007. We are also pleased to announce that PLT2007 will be held in technical cooperation with IEEE and IEEE Computer Science Society.

Our auto observation tool for scientific communities contains at present 367 projects, of which 42 are newsfeeds, 78 newsletters, 178 web sites and 69 mailinglists. The number of catched entries totals 5590 for the feeds, of which 601 were retrieved last week. For the newsletters totals 1665 entries, of which 10 were retrieved last week and for the mailinglists 43275 entries, of which 680 last week.

The project from the feeds with the highest activity level last week was EdNA online - Education Network Australia, with 13 entries, 1 less than the top-project of the week before - Tomorrow's Professor SM. The top-project from the mailinglists last week was LM_NET: Library media specialist information exchange, with 316 entries, 18 less than the top-project of the week before - LM_NET: Library media specialist information exchange.
