The Information Systems Group and the Center for Digital Economy Research at New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business are seeking postdoctoral researchers for projects involving */the modeling and empirical analysis of large/**/ /**/scale dynamic online
social/* */networks/**. *The research scientists would work with Professor Sinan Aral and Professor Arun Sundararajan on discovering and analyzing relationships between large scale dynamic online social networks, user behavior, user generated content, purchasing patterns and associated economic outcomes.
Candidates should have completed a Ph.D. in computer science, economics, sociology or a related field prior to beginning this appointment.
Demonstrated research and a strong background in network analysis, along with experience manipulating large networked data sets (and the associated programming and data management skills) are required. Formal training in econometrics and social network analysis, and knowledge of statistical software (such as R, SAS and STATA) are desirable but not required.
In addition to working on these projects, the scientists will have the opportunity to participate in the intellectual life of the Stern School, and to interact with the other faculty and scholars affiliated with the research center.
The term of appointment will be two years with an option to renew (further details are available from the professors). The appointments will begin as soon as possible. Salary and research support will be generous and competitive with those of comparable appointments at other top New York City area research universities.
