Travel Information

The Isik University locates in the beautiful campus at Sile (Black Sea). Sile campus is 60 km from Istanbul, on the opposite side of the city.

:: On the map, Sabiha airport looks closer to Sile campus than Atatürk airport. However, Atatürk airport - Sile is a highway connection where Sabiha Airport - Sile is a national road. Additionally, more transportation possibilities are available from/to Atatürk airport.

:: Please note that one can take the same exit from TEM (the highway around istanbul) to go to Sile from both airports.

:: For transportation from/to airport (only Atatürk airport), there is a shuttle service provided for summer school participants by the university transportation department. You can see the ">bus schedule as follows

:: Meeting point at the airport:

There is a “Gloria Jean’s Coffee” 10-15 meters to the right after exiting the passport control counters. It is just beneath the B Gate. It is very close to the passport control so if you ask for directions, anyone will show it. Here is a little picture of the entrance to help you even more.

:: In addition, there is a Light metro between the airport and the city.

• Here is a Light metro (train) time schedule from/to Atatürk airport.
  (The first schedule is to the city, the second is to the airport. The terminal is Aksaray, which is at the old part of the city.)

Visas:

Citizens from countries other than Turkey are required to obtain a visa to enter. For most Europeans, this Visa can be obtained at the airport on arrival. If you think you may need a special visa to enter, we advise you to contact the Turkish Embassy in your country.
